Why a B.A. Degree in Environmental Studies?
One of today’s most crucial issues is the impact of humans on the natural world and

in Environmental Studies is rising. McKendree’s bachelor’s degree in Environmental
Studies will equip you with the skills to develop informed positions on environmental
problems and work toward their resolutions.
About the Environmental Studies Major
Housed under the Division of Science and Mathematics, the B.A. in Environmental Studies is an interdisciplinary program that incorporates
aspects of biology, economics, ethics, and social science to give you a broad perspective
on issues of environmental concern. You’ll learn the scientific basis for environmental
problems and analyze potential solutions while examining different world views that
shape people’s attitudes and actions toward the environment.

Green Team - This student organization focuses on campus and community-wide issues related to the environment and sustainability. Members raise awareness through various service projects and “green” efforts on and around campus, while empowering people with information and the opportunity to make a positive difference in the world.
