The Office of Residence Life plays a vital role in supporting the academic mission of McKendree University by creating an atmosphere that encourages holistic development. We are committed to providing a safe and well-maintained residential community while promoting student success. We value an environment that fosters mutual respect, responsible citizenship, and supportive educational opportunities to supplement our residents' overall experience.
Thanksgiving Break Form
To help us maintain a safe and welcoming campus environment over Thanksgiving Break, we ask that all residents complete the Thanksgiving Break Form. This form allows you to let us know if you will be staying on campus or traveling elsewhere for the holiday break.
Why this form? Knowing about your plans helps us ensure that essential services, including safety measures and dining alternatives, are available for those remaining on campus. It also assists in maintaining the security of our residential buildings.

Important Dates
Aug. 26: 1st day of class for Fall 2024 academic term
September 2: Labor Day Holiday. No classes and campus offices are closed.
September 3: Housing Freeze Ends.
September 6: Last day to change your meal plan for the Fall 2024 semester. Email [email protected] before 12 noon!
October 11-13: Homecoming Weekend.
October 18: Fall Break Holiday. No classes but campus offices are open at reduced staff.
November 1: Winter Break Housing Application opens.
November 1: Spring 2025 Housing Application opens for new and transferring students.
November 11: Housing Freeze Begins.
November 27-December 1: Thanksgiving Holiday. No classes and campus offices are closed.
December 8: 24-Hour Quiet Hours begin.
December 13: 24-Hour Quiet Hours end. Halls close at 12:00 pm (Noon) unless student is approve to stay for the Winter Break period or has an approved extended stay.
December 22 - January 1: Campus closed for winter break.
January 10: Halls open for residents to move back in at 1:00 pm.
January 13: 1st day of class for Spring 2025 academic term.

May 9: Halls close at 5:00 pm unless student is approve to stay for the Summer Break period or has an approved extended stay.
