Avoid the Parking Challenge with Bogey’s Greatest Invention, the Bogey Bus!
by: Elana Melzer '26
McKendree just welcomed the largest class in its history - the class of 2028 - and with that it brings fuller parking lots. No one likes walking all the way from Bearcat Hall to PAC, but it can be extremely difficult to get a parking spot in the closest lot, lot C. Luckily, McKendree University has a solution in place, and it’s one that has been in place for years - the Bogey Bus!
The Bogey Bus runs Monday through Thursday from 7:30 A.M. to 6 P.M., and Friday from 7:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. The bus makes stops at McKendree West, Carnegie Hall, MPCC, and PAC, running in roughly 15-minute loops.
The bus drivers are also wonderful people to chat with. One of the drivers is alum Jim Pehle. He enjoys playing the radio while driving and interacting with the polite Bearcats that take the bus. Pehle also loves meeting students and hearing from them about what is happening on campus.
Whether you live on campus or commute, the Bogey Bus is there for you! Avoid navigating the maze of parking lots when you can park next to a Bogey Bus Stop and catch a ride from there! Next time, consider parking at the MPCC or McKendree West and enjoy a chat with the wonderful Bogey Bus drivers on the way to class.
