Eligibility Requirements
Must be a U.S. citizen, of senior standing, who is majoring in math, science, physics,
engineering, or computer science and who plan to pursue a doctoral degree in these
areas.
Fellowship Description
To increase the number of U.S. citizens trained in science and engineering disciplines
of military importance, the Department of Defense (DoD) will offer fellowships to
individuals who have demonstrated the ability and special aptitude for advanced training
in science and engineering.
National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellowships are awarded
to applicants who will pursue a doctoral degree in, or closely related to, an area
of DoD interest within one of the fifteen following disciplines: engineering, biosciences,
chemistry, math, computer science, and physics.
